Mon Petit Chat

"Mon Petit Chat" means "My Little Cat" in French. My blogs are mostly poems, and since most of my poems are about cats, I came up with this name. If you enjoy my poems, please leave a comment!

Poem of the day: Dinner

Dinner

Lots of pears,
And some pasta,
Glass of juice,
Salad lot'sa,

Oranges and Kiwis,
Slice of pie,
Pumpkin Spice,
Bread that's dry,

Ripe red apple,
Slab of steak,
Bag of chips,
Chocolate cake,

Wedge of cheese,
Cup of tea,
Big red grapes,
Bowl of peas,

Some fresh tomatoes,
Squash that's thinner,
That's what I eat,
For my dinner.

Poem of the day: Description of Lord Kass

Description of Lord Kass

BEHOLD! The General,
FEEL the ground quake,
DO stand back,
FOR all our sakes,

HE is strong and mighty,
AND he's off to battle,
LORD Kass is his name,
FEEL the ground rattle.

Poem of the day: A Season's Passing

A Season's Passing

Spring is bright,
Flowers popping up,
Cherry blossums bursting,
Clover filling my cup,

But now springs gone,
Long gone,

Summer is wet,
Everyone's swimming,
Playing Hopscotch and Jacks,
Ropes they're skipping,

But now summers gone,
Long gone,

Fall is crunchy,
They're raking the leaves,
Jumping into piles,
Climbing up the eaves,

But now falls gone,
Long gone,

Winter is snow white,
Building some snowmen,
Throwing snowballs,
Making a snow den,

But now winters gone,
Long gone,

Now a years gone by,
What a time we had,
Having so much fun,
Faces were so glad.

Poem of the day: Museum

Museum

Small French pictures,
With shiny golden frames,
Showing off so brightly,
No two are the same,

Small French pictures,
Twenty in one room,
Each one is so cheerful,
None show any gloom,

Small French pictures,
Their creators long gone,
But they're still shining brightly,
Glistening in a new dawn.

Poem of the day: A Goose and a Bear

A Goose and a Bear

I saw a barefoot bear,
A barefoot bear I saw,
I'm sure that its not quite right,
Is it against the law?

I saw a loose goose,
A loose goose I saw,
I'm sure that its quite not right,
Is it against the law?

The bear and the goose collided,
Ran right into each other,
Next both of them said at once,
"Oh Brother!"

Poem of the day: (Not so) Sweet Dreams

(Not so) Sweet Dreams

Late one dark, dark night,
I went to to get some water,
But as I was walking through the hall,
My footsteps began to falter,

I had heard a creak,
The creak of the basement door,
Did I dare to go down there,
Where all my junk I'd poured,

Then I heard a whistle,
Then a ghostly wail,
And then a strange sound,
Of a hammer and a nail,

My courage began to fail me,
My knee's began to shake,
My whole body started to quiver,
The house began to shake,

The basement door opened,
A monster reared its head,
I tightly shut my eyes,
Then saw I was still in bed!

What's a Haiku?

What's a Haiku? A Haiku is a short Japenese poem, mostly about nature. Animals, food, seasons and weather are popular subjects. Haikus don't have to rhyme, but they do have structure. The first line of a Haiku poem always has five syllables, always! The second line of the poem has seven syllables. The final line has five syllables, like the first line. The well written Haiku flows off your tongue, like a regular rhyming poem. Haikus are fun poems to write, and anyone can write one! Here's a funny Haiku I wrote for people who don't know what a Haiku is.

Puzzled

What is a Haiku?
I just can't figure it out!
Oh, what a puzzle!

Poem of the day: Sleepy Cat Haiku

Baskets

Cats often sleep here,
Lying in sunny places,
Cats nap in baskets!

Zzzz...

Cats sleep all the day,
Snoozing in quiet places,
They makes a Zzzz... sound!

Tiger Stripes

Black, orange, and white
Glide throught the forest with speed

Poem of the day: Sylvester Haiku

Sylvester #1

The Looney Tunes cat,
Chases Tweety all day long,
Can he catch the bird?

Sylvester #2

The Looney Tunes cat,
Has a black and white striped pelt,
He purrs a lot too!

Sylvester #3

The Looney Tunes cat,
Likes to chase a yellow bird,
He also likes to purr!

Peace

The cat purrs loudly
The cat sits silent in sleep
It is all peaceful.
